IT Project Manager

Looking for a project manager with 3-7 years experience that will be a liaison between Lincoln and our clients.  We need somebody who understands technology as the primary responsibility and will be to support and coordinate technical projects. Someone who can take technical talk and explain to users who are less technical.  Understanding basic networking topologies and storage infrastructure is preferred.  Understanding of cloud environments a plus. Travel throughout Long Island will be required.  Must be able to track progress and have client management skills

Main Function

  • Responsible for coordination of project requests, associated tasks and resources 
  • Creates and maintains the appropriate project plan specific for the type of project and communicates in a clear, timely and courteous manner to project sponsors, stake holders and resources

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for gathering project objectives, deliverables and timeline. Identifies the type, priority and category of the project and follows the established process accordingly
  • Negotiates and communicates timelines as necessary to achieve balance between project requirements and resource availability
  • Collect and understands the technical requirements and creates the appropriate tasks needed for project deliverables
  • Applies required technical knowledge to properly identify the necessary methods and technologies for the most efficient achievement of the project goal
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts from within the department or outside vendors and consultants if necessary
  • Provides timely communication of tasks assignments, solicits tasks updates and submits regular status reports to Senior Management 
  • Identifies critical paths and escalates potential issues to management before they become critical
  • Documents all phases of the project including initiation, planning and execution
  • Maintains and organizes project documentation including but not limited to project plans, schematic diagrams, charts, technical documentation
  • Collects the requirements and recommendations for purchasing, obtains pricing and quotations from IT procurement department
  • Tracks delivery of goods and services with formal documentation
  • Maintains an inventory and schedule of equipment needed to complete each request


  • Minimum of 5 years project management experience, including experience in IT systems implementation management
  • Demonstrated formal project management methodology experience is required
  • Proficiency in project management planning tools
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent IT project budgets
  • Must be able to enforce deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment


  • PMP
  • IT consulting or IT Professional Services experience 
  • Experience working for a managed service provider
  • Connect Wise Experience 
  • Microsoft Project and Microsoft Visio Experience
